IWPSE2002 Overview
The international workshop on software evolution,
IWPSE2002, is organized for the discussion of both the theory and the
experience of software evolution. It is a continuation of the previous four
workshops: IWPSE '98, IWPSE '99, IWPSE 2000, and IWPSE 2001. Software
evolution, recognized as an essential aspect of software systems, has become an
emerging research subject in recent years and is attracting the attention of
researchers and practitioners. The intent of IWPSE2002 is to provide a forum to
discuss a wide range of topics in software evolution, to foster the better
understanding of the nature of software evolution, and to accelerate research
activities on the subject.
The major topics include, but not limited to:
Theory of software
evolution, evolution of requirements and environments, architecture for
evolution, evolution of architecture, software process for evolution, evolution
of software process, methodology for evolutional design and development,
validation and verification of evolution, metrics and evaluation of evolution,
configuration and change management for evolution, environment for evolutional
design, co-evolution of software and organization, experience and lessons
learned from evolutional software systems, agile software development.
Paper submission:
We seek two types of contribution:
- Full papers
-
A full paper cannot exceed ten pages and
includes a title, a short abstract, and references. All papers are to be
referred by the PC. Accepted papers will be published in the workshop
proceedings. At least one author must attend the workshop (this is a condition
of publication) and approximately 30 minutes will be allocated for the
presentation of the paper.
- Position papers
-
Position papers are shorter than four
pages in length and include a title, a short abstract, and references. The aim
of a position paper is to contribute a specific position to a research
discussion. Position papers are judged on novelty, sensibility of the
viewpoint, key insights, and relevant research results. Radical and
unconventional ideas are welcomed. An accepted position paper will be published
in the workshop proceeding. Each position paper will be allocated 10-15 minutes
for presentation.
